BBC Breakfast’s weather presenter Carol Kirkwood was taken aback on the show on Monday morning when Sally Nugent made a cheeky swipe about her pool efforts.
Sally and her guest co-host Ben Thompson discussed a light-hearted segment in which lucky lottery winner Neil Jones, who spent his winnings on a pool table, is now representing England in a tournament.
As they wrapped up the story and handed over to Carol for the weather news, Ben said he could imagine her being a “pool shark” and asked if she could play.
Surprised by his assumption, she giggled: “No, I am absolutely rubbish Ben, the felt would be ripped.”
Seconds later, Sally agreed and cheekily chimed in: “She is rubbish, yeah.”

The camera then turned back onto Carol, who seemed shocked by her comment in good humour.
She jokingly replied: “Thanks Sal! But that is absolutely true.”
Moving on from the exchange, Carol proceeded to deliver the latest weather forecast mostly focused on Storm Babet.
The meteorologist’s segment comes after presenter Naga Munchetty made an awkward comment about her outfit last week.
While wearing a red dress, she delivered the bad news that red weather warnings were in place due to the storm.

Carol revealed that “torrential rain” will take place in some parts of the UK and it wouldn’t be a “pretty picture”.
Naga then added: “I can imagine it takes a lot for there to be a red warning, because you’ve been doing this a long time Carol, you know what you’re doing, you’ve got experience doing this, red warnings are very rare, they’re not slapped on lightly.”
Carol replied: “They are absolutely not, the Met Office has to be pretty sure that the impact and the likelihood of this happening come together for a red warning to come out.”
Charlie Stayt then chimed in: “I’m presuming Carol that that is why you are wearing red today, it is also colour coordinated right?”

Giggling, she replied: “No it’s not, it is what is clean, what is ironed, yikes.”
Naga then joked: “At least it is clean, that’s a good thing isn’t it?”
Seemingly puzzled however, Carol replied: “What are you saying, it’s not ironed?”
The two presenters then moved onto the next news segment.
