A show insider said: “Everyone at Drag Race UK has wanted to have Carol on the panel for years, so they’re over the moon that they have finally made it happen.

“Carol is a household name and very popular with the public. And, crucially, she’s a massive fan of the show and gets what it’s all about.”

Carol has already filmed her appearance.

The former Countdown star was sitting alongside regulars RuPaul and Michelle Visage.

Daily Star Sunday's insider added: “To say Carol was a hit on set would be a massive understatement. Everyone loved her.

“She’s a true professional and is lots of fun to work with.”

Execs have pulled out all the stops to make the new series the best yet.

Our source said they managed to secure a host of other big names to appear.

It’ll be shown later this year on BBC Three.

The fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK aired last autumn, with the likes of Dame Joanna Lumley, Alison Hammond, Mel B, Boy George and Olly Alexander joining as guest judges.

Former Britain's Got Talent contestant Danny Beard went on to win the series, after reaching the finale alongside Jonbers Blonde, Black Peppa and Cheddar Gorgeous.
