CAROL Vorderman is stepping in for Lorraine Kelly this week after the presenter was struck down with Covid.
Former Countdown host Carol, 61, gave Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid a shock backstage at 5am today.
But the surprise sighting was explained by Carol, who has been drafted in to host Lorraine while its titular host recovers at home.
Carol told Susanna and Ed Balls: "Lorraine's caught the dreaded you know what, and I'm sitting in for a few days here, which I'm delighted to do.
"But we are wishing her a speedy recovery as she is a bit [sad face]."
Sharing pics of her pet dogs on Instagram, Lorraine said: "The dreaded Covid has finally caught up with me. So thankful to the scientists who developed the vaccine! Being looked after by @rosiekellysmith @rubyisasausage and @steveandangussmith."
