Antiques Road Trip: Gemma Collins tries to charm antiques dealer
Former The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins met her match when she tried to “butterup” an antiques dealer on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.
The larger-than-life star was paired with antiques expert James Braxton to sniff out a bargain in Southend-on-Sea.
A preview of tomorrow night’s episode released by the BBC shows the GC as she calls herself trying to haggle with a shopowner called Sally Tyrie, who runs the long-established antiques shop, Sally’s Out of Curiosity.
Having found as stunning classic Georg Jensen brooch and matching earrings in store she tries turning on the charm to get a discount.
“Sally, firstly I just want to say, you have got the most fabulous shop,” Gemma gushed.

However, Sally was clearly wise to her tactics and fired back: “You’re not buttering me up, are you?”
The pair eventually agreed a price for the brooch and earrings, but Gemma further chanced her luck by asking for a “random caviar bowl” she spotted in the shop to be thrown in as a freebie.
“No one eats caviar anymore because they can’t afford it,” she said. “I wish I could, but since the cost of living crisis, I can’t. I’ve gone down to potted shrimps.” Sally was immune to Gemma’s charms though and wasn’t easily swayed.
The show sees pairs of famous faces travelling across the UK alongside some of the country’s finest antiques experts to hunt for hidden treasures.
They then compete to see who can auction them off for the most money and all the profits made on the items go to Children In Need.
