NETFLIX has released the date and first trailer for a spinoff series based on one of its most popular shows.
The streamer has confirmed that Money Heist fan-favourite criminal Berlin will fly solo in his own gripping series this year.
The upcoming show is titled after the cunning thief himself, Berlin, and it follows the hectic life of the extravagant robber Berlin (aka Andrés de Fonollosa) played by Pedro Alonso in this new action-packed prequel.
Berlin was introduced to Money Heist in season one, and it was soon discovered that he was the Professor's (Álvaro Morte) older brother.
A terminally ill Berlin decides to sacrifice himself at the end of season 1, part 2, so the rest of the gang can escape from the police.
The spinoff series will reflect on Berlin's golden age in Paris as he prepares for one of the biggest heists in his life.
