CLAIRE Richards broke down in tears after "wiping the floor" with her competitors on Beat The Chasers and bagging a HUGE prize fund for charity.

The Chase spin-off returned to screens last night with a new celebrity line-up and a nail-biting episode.

Bradley, 63, hosted as Rory Bremner, Dana, Carlton Cole, and Claire Richards took on the Chasers to win big money for their chosen charities.

Former Steps singer, Claire proved she was more than just a popstar.as she managed to zoom through to the final.

Viewers at home were left biting their nails as she faced all five chasers in a tense battle.

With £75,000 up for grabs – Bradley asked, with a second left on the clock, "What is the brightest heavenly body seen from Earth?"

Claire then surprised everyone by correctly answering: "Sun."

The star was declared the winner after Bradley shouted a loud "yes" before time ran out.

Claire then let out a tremendous scream, reeling from the fact that she had won.

"Oh my God I'm going to cry," Claire said while wiping her tears.

Chaser Jenny Ryan – AKA The Vixen – clearly impressed with Claire's performance, said: "You wiped the floor with us, that was a tremendous performance."

Claire revealed that she is going to donate the money to the Marie Curie charity – which supports anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from.
