Coleen Rooney has explained why she will never give up on her husband Wayne, despite some rocky times in their marriage over cheating scandals.
The mum-of-four has published a tell-all autobiography, My Account, where she lifts the lid on her long relationship with former England footballer Wayne as well as her Wagatha Christie court battle with Rebekah Vardy.
Wayne has hit headlines in the past over stories including having visited prostitutes as a teen and being caught drink driving in another woman's car while Coleen was pregnant, but she has always stuck by him and kept her opinions on his behaviour private.
Now, in her new memoir she has written about what she went through when the cheating stories broke, and in an appearance on Thursday's This Morning she told Rochelle Humes and Craig Doyle why she had finally chosen to open up.
She said: "I’ve had time to sit down and process it all and I wanted to tell my truth and also let people know who I am, the reasons behind my actions and thoughts."
Coleen went on to explain why she had given Wayne so many second chances, saying: "Obviously the relationship with Wayne has been hard over the years, but there’s always been love there so why give up on it? And why not see if you can work it out?
"People haven’t seen that because we’ve done that behind closed doors and it’s been a battle at times, it’s been hard.
"People only see what’s in the press, they don’t know what goes on in our life so it’s to explain that this is what’s happened – it was out there, we’ve dealt with it, and we’re moving on."
Coleen – who recently made a Disney+ documentary about her legal battles with Rebekah Vardy – added she was lucky to have a close-knit group if friends and family who have always kept her grounded.
She said: "I’ve got a great support network with friends and family, especially my parents and I’m so lucky to have had the upbringing that I’ve had.
"I do always go back to that, the way I was brought up and my morals for life and that’s how I go forward.
"Little things that my dad and my mum used to say to me, that I now say to my kids and it reminds me of growing up, but I'm so lucky – especially being in the public eye – I haven’t had to but I have stayed grounded and that’s because of the people around me.
"You definitely have to have a strong mind as well, which both me and Wayne do."
