Come Dine With Me icon Kev Riley – aka Whisk Guy – has revealed he was asked to take part in a special episode of the trippy teatime favourite with ‘What a Sad Little Life You Lead, Jane’ hun Peter Marsh.
It’s been over 10 years since Riley became an eternal meme, and now he’s teased a possible return to the show which sees five home chefs compete to throw the perfect dinner party.
Few have become quite as iconic as Riley or Marsh, however.
Riley’s nickname speaks for itself after he impressively shoved an entire whisk in his mouth before using it to whip up a cheese cake to his unsuspecting guests.
Marsh’s meltdown when he finished in last place, losing out to victor Jane, and getting the result in his own home has inspired, T-shirts, countless GIFs and is referenced daily.
Speaking to his legion of fans on Reddit, Burnley-based DJ Riley was asked if he’s ever considered collaborating with his fellow Come Dine With Me icon.
It turns out, he hasn’t just considered it, there were serious conversations being had.
‘Got asked to do this as a Come Dine With Me episode!’ he confirmed.
Sadly, Marsh, who is widely hailed as the sorest loser on television ever, will need some convincing.
‘I don’t think he’s up for it though,’ Riley said.
Marsh has been critical of his time on Come Dine With Me, telling The Mirror: ‘What’s shown is not all that happens and people will believe what they’re shown.’
Riley, on the other hand, has seized that chance to utilise his newfound fame to make some cash on celebrity video request site Cameo.
Speaking to us last year, he said: ‘I’ve never made money from Come Dine With Me,’ he says. ‘But other people have. They released 30,000 Come Dine With Me Christmas jumpers two years ago, Netflix has bought the rights to show it and then I’m the face of that on their channel.’
Now he’s charging £26 per video and has been inundated with requests.
Come Dine With Me is available to stream on All4.
