CORONATION Street fans have called out a major blunder in last night's episode as sinister Stephen Reid continued his reign of terror.

Evil Stephen was left furious as Wednesday's Coronation Street kicked off as he discovered he was being demoted at the factory by boss Carla Connor, played by Alison King, despite just securing a big-money contract, albeit illegitimately.

Carla informed him that he would become the new office manager which he likened to being an 'errand boy' as he expressed his anger toward Carla and threatened to take her to an employment tribunal.

An unbothered Carla told him not to waste his breath as he stormed out.

After recently learning about Carla's past struggles with psychosis, following a discussion with his replacement Sarah, Stephen begins to search online for the symptoms of the mental health condition as he began his next sinister plan.

Viewers of the ITV soap watched on in horror as Stephen was seen adding a number of drops of the drug LSD to a drink he had made for Carla.

Having stolen the drug during his mission to secure the big contract on Monday night, it appeared that dastardly Stephen was hoping to provoke some of Carla's psychosis by drugging her.

After nearly being caught up to no good by Sean, Stephen said to Carla as he handed her the cup: "Consider it a little peace gesture after this morning's misunderstanding."

He then initiated a cheers, as he said: "To starting over?"

Carla replied: "Yeah okay I'll drink to that," as she took a sip from the cup.

Having drank the whole mug, Carla was seen acting out of sorts by the fellow factory workers as Stephen kept a beady eye on her.

Asssuming she'd had a stressful day, the factory workers took her for a drink at the Rovers to cheer her up.

In shocking scenes, Stephen once again slipped some LSD into her red wine whilst at the bar, almost risking the chance of getting caught.

As Peter turned up to check his wife, he hurried her home before she could finish the drink.

Worried her psychosis might return, when back at their flat, Peter said to her: "What are you staring at?"

Carla blazenly replied: "Shapes."

Fearing the worst, Peter spoke to her before she answered back with no regard to what he had just said.

Carla told him: "I'm just enjoying the shapes.

"That one looks like Ken."

But fans were distracted by a major blunder as killer Stephen appeared to forget about the CCTV in the factory again.
