Coronation Street fans were left confused this week when they found out the true age of character Jack Webster.

Jack, who is played by Kyran Bowes, was seen finishing primary school this week on the show, making him around 11 years old. But in real life, the actor Kyran Bowes is 15.

And viewers just simply couldn't believe the revelation and struggled to concentrate on the unfolding story ahead. One wrote on Twitter: "Hang on Jack is supposed to be ELEVEN!?!"

While another added: "Jack needs walking to school? Last day at primary? That makes the character about 10-11 but he looks and sounds about 19!!!"

A third echoed the confusion posting: "Love how in Corrie they keep stressing how Jack is like 11 years old when the young actor playing him is clearly around 15 years old." And a fourth viewer added: "Did I just hear right Jack Webster is only 11 @itvcorrie I’m sure he’s about 14."

Someone else commented: "Why is Jack in Corrie who looks about 15 in a class full of 8-9 year olds. Ridiculous. I’m sorry but he needs to be recast, why is he in a school with kids half his age." Another joked: "Is Jack meant to be the same age as the rest of those schoolkids?! He looks like he could be their teacher!"

Jack hasn't had and easy ride over the cobbles of late after it was revealed he's being bullied for having 'two dads'. He discovered he's the product of an affair between Kevin Webster and Tyrone Dobbs' late partner Molly. Molly gave birth to Jack but died in 2010, leaving Tyrone behind assuming Jack was his biological son.

However, on her death bed and in her final moments, Molly revealed the truth to Sally. And in June, Jack overheard a conversation between Kevin and his sister Debbie where he learned the truth at last.

This week, Jack admitted to his dad that Nathan had been taunting him and during Wednesday's episode (July 27), Kevin argued with Jack and was upset to hear his son say that he wasn't looking forward to having Kevin's wife Abi back.
