FURIOUS Coronation Street fans have hit out at Stephanie Davis' shocking first storyline and have branded the soap's actions as showcasing double standards.
Viewers of the ITV soap opera have been left fuming over her character Courtney Vance targeting 18 year old Aadi Alahan as part of a new affair plot.
They have engaged in numerous steamy sex scenes with most of the dialogue between the pair being hot and heavy.
However, fans have lashed out at the 'hypocritical' soap for showcasing double standards.
Aadi, played by actor Adam Hussain, appeared to be uncomfortable at some of Courtney's unwanted advances.
Writing online, one fan raged: "I'm seeing a lot of double standards here that are in my opinion, rather disturbing.

"Courtney grabs at his junk in the last episode at the restaurant and he's clearly uncomfortable, she refuses to take "no" for an answer and constantly coerces him into continuing this affair, even using this Freshco deal as a bargaining chip, and to top it off, he's a teenager and she's twice his age."
They went onto further slam the soap, writing: "I just find this to be in really poor taste."
Many fellow Coronation Street fans quickly agreed and labelled the story as 'grooming' after Courtney appeared to use the hopes of a potential big-money business deal as a reason for Aadi to continue their wild affair.
Another viewer said of the story: "It is grim, he’s barely just turned 18 and wasn’t interested. Note how she also holds the idea of success for the business and for his dad over him as well as a way to keep him lured in."

Someone else penned: "It’s supposed to be a fun storyline?! Is that how it’s being promoted?
"Aadi is being exploited and manipulated by someone leveraging a power imbalance. It’s Ray Crosby all over again."
A fourth admitted to feeling 'uncomfortable' at the plot, saying: "I don't like how this story line is being promoted. They're describing it as fun but it's actually creepy on screen."
While a fifth said: "Since Aadi is technically 18, I don't know if it legally counts as grooming, but it certainly feels like it is.
"It's definitely not fun and is super uncomfortable to watch. I despise Courtney already and she’s only been on the show for a few episodes."
"I said this when the storyline was announced, she’s grooming him," concluded another.
Stephanie joined the soap as Courtney last week and has already kicked up a fuss on the cobbles.
It comes after she left Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks as Sinead O'Connor.
