While Aidan Connor’s bereaved family struggle to come to terms with his suicide in Coronation Street, there is unfortunately another shock in store for them in upcoming episodes.
Michelle (Kym Marsh) will soon discover Aidan (Shayne Ward)’s will, as she and Carla (Alison King) take on the task of sorting through his belongings to save Aidan’s father Johnny (Richard Hawley) the pain.
But she’s shocked to find out that Aidan has left Underworld entirely to his business partner Alya Nazir (Siar Khan), according to The Sun.
The Connors are then left with a legal battle on their hands, as they fight to get back what they think Aidan would have wanted them to have since he made up with his family.
Carla signed over her share of the factory to her half-brother after he saved her life by donating his kidney to her, meaning that Alya will now be the sole owner of the factory.
But it’s unlikely that Alya will want to give up her business, so things could get very messy indeed.
The repercussions of Aidan’s death will be felt across the Street, with Sophie Webster, Adam Barlow and Eva Price all struggling with feelings of guilt.
Actor Shayne Ward has said that the response to the story has been “truly overwhelming”, saying that he knew it was “more than just a storyline”.
The episode in which Aidan’s suicide was discovered was widely praised by fans, who were in agreement that the episode will remain in their minds for a long time.
Coronation Street continues on Friday (May 9) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
