Coronation Street actor Luke Delaney has been rushed to hospital after suffering an injury.

The 29-year-old star famously played Dave Fairchild in the ITV soap.

He logged into his Instagram on Wednesday (August 23) to share snap of himself sat in a waiting room with his leg in a brace.

He penned alongside his post from Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester: "One injury after another this year. Potential MCL/ACL tear now'"

The TV personality and bodybuilder has also appeared in Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Peaky Blinders.

Since leaving the cobbles last year, the fitness fanatic has launched his personal training company called Train With Luke.

He offers one-on-one coaching services to people wanting to improve their own fitness and wellbeing.

When he left Corrie, Luke praised the serial drama on social media and thanked all involved with the ITV soap for their help and support over his six months of filming.

He penned: "So it looks like Dave and the gangs attempt to go on the run didn't get them far and they'll be spending the next few years behind bars.

"Which unfortunately means I have to say goodbye to the cobbles and my Coronation Street family.

"It's been a crazy six months since joining the cast back in August last year, and I'm extremely grateful to have worked with a team of insanely talented people at ITV studios to bring this storyline to screen.

"I've said it before but the support I've received both inside and outside of the show really has been overwhelming so thank you. Onto the next.

Luke was involved in the extremist storyline involving Max Turner (Paddy Beaver).

He is also set to star in a new movie alongside fellow former Corrie star Georgia May Foote, who played Katy Armstrong.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV1 and ITVX at 8pm
