Coronation Street villain confirms exit from soap and his final scenes have already aired | The Sun

CORONATION Street star Luke Delaney has revealed that he has left the soap after filming his final scenes.

The actor – who played the character is called Dave Fairchild on the ITV soap – said he will be departing from the famous cobbles as the extremist storyline involving Max Turner comes to an end.

Luke announced his exit on social media, writing: "So it looks like Dave and the gangs attempt to go on the run didn't get them far and they'll be spending the next few years behind bars.

"Which unfortunately means I have to say goodbye to the cobbles and my Coronation Street family.

"It's been a crazy six months since joining the cast back in August last year, and I'm extremely grateful to have worked with a team of insanely talented people at ITV studios to bring this storyline to screen.

"I've said it before but the support I've received both inside and outside of the show really has been overwhelming so thank you.

He previously played a police officer in the BBC historical drama Peaky Blinders opposite Cillian Murphy.

And Luke also has history of being a soap villain having kidnapped Maxine Minniver in Hollyoaks last year.

Other credits to the TV star's name include Netflix’s Stay Close, Emmerdale and C4’s Cucumber.

Teenager Max Turner – who is played by actor Paddy Bever – found himself targeted by a gang of extremists ultimately putting his own life and that of his friends and family in danger.

The wayward teen played by Paddy Bever could do nothing when faced with Griff's manipulative tactics.

In a short amount of time, the lad was enticed into Griff's activist group, using his video editing skills to help them spread their racist views throughout Weatherfield.

But things took a turn when Griff and his gang planted a bomb in the cobbles as Maria Connor's Peace Market was underway.

It's since become clear that Max will also have to endure the consequences, although he was groomed by Griff.

Initially arrested for incitement to murder in recent Corrie scenes, Max's charges are escalated to Encouragement of Terrorism due to his propaganda videos.

It also comes after thug Blake – who is played by actor Adam Little in the ITV soap – stabbed Alya Nazir as part of a terror attack on the refugee drop in centre launch.

Blake livestreamed the event as Alya introduced Maria and she welcomed people to the refugee drop in centre.

Max ran out of his house and fled to Speed Daal to try and stop Blake – but as he ran in searching for Blake, Gary grabbed him and stopped him.

Max begged him to listen but Gary grabbed him and refused to listen, leaving Blake a chance to attack Maria.
