Drug lord Harvey Gaskell is set for an epic return to Coronation Street next week in dramatic scenes.
Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed that the soap villain escapes from prison.
His freedom inevitably means Leanne Battersby is in danger as he seems hell bent on revenge after she and Simon successfully got him sent down for embroiling the young lad in his drug deals.
Weatherfield residents gather to celebrate Halloween, unaware a giant storm is rolling in on the horizon.
Harvey deliberately injures himself in prison and demands to be sent to hospital.
As Dev, Aadi and Asha Alahan set off on a family holiday, they end up trapped on a country road, with their way blocked by a fallen tree.
On that same route, the prison van carrying Harvey is in danger, as the guard pulls a knife – forcing the van to swerve into the Alahans’ stationary car.
Harvey pulls himself out of the van into the torrential downpour and prepares for his escape.
Mechanic Kevin arrives at the crash site, but is attacked by Harvey who steals his pick-up truck.
Alone in the bistro that night and dressed as Morticia Adams, Leanne finds herself face-to-face with a ghost from the past: Harvey.
As the drug lord traps her in the bistro, Leanne attempts escape – but Harvey gags her and binds her hands with gaffer tape.
Will Leanne make it out alive?
Intent on murder, Harvey doesn’t hesitate to give chase as Leanne tries to run away – but suddenly, the ground opens up beneath her as sinkholes seem to be taking over Weatherfield.
Have Leanne and Harvey both survived? And will Harvey live to carry out his revenge?
Speaking about the latest terrifying plot, Jane Danson, who plays Leanne on the cobbles, said: "Harvey is a really frightening character who’s involved in this awful world and she’s fearful for her life.
"She knows that he means business and he’s not going to mess about.
"Leanne’s pretty savvy and streetwise but she knows a bad egg when she sees one. It’s pre watershed but within the realms of that it’s as serious as it gets and we certainly played it as her fighting for her life," she divulged.
But all hope is not lost, as Jane promised: "[Leanne has] got the nice flat now, the nicer clothes, she lives at the posher end of the street but that yappy, scrappy, feisty Battersby is still in there.
"[Harvey] will always overpower her physically but she will definitely give as good as she gets."
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV
