Stephen Reid’s (played by Todd Boyce) aim is to make Carla Connor (Alison King) think her psychosis had returned and is no longer fit to run Underworld, handing the reigns over to him. While the Coronation Street villain’s murderous streak has been at bay for a while after he killed Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) and Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin), it has been confirmed Stephen will strike again.
After pushing Leo off of a bridge, with his body falling into a bin and hitting Teddy over the head with a hole punch, Stephen seems to have set his sights on killing Carla next.
His murderous ways were highlighted pretty soon after he returned to Weatherfield as he’s desperately tried to get his hands on as much money as possible.
When things don’t go the way he planned and control begins to slip out of his grasp, Stephen can’t seem to help but turn to violence.
Now, Stephen actor Todd Boyce has revealed the maniac will kill again as he told The Mirror: “I think there could be more.
“He has a taste for it now and I think he figures that if he gets caught for three, he might as well get caught for four or five.
“In your 20s and 30s you want to play Hamlet, in your 40s and 50s you want to play Macbeth, in your 60s and 70s you want to play King Lear, but what I have at Coronation Street is rarer than any of those milestones in a career.
“I feel like I’m in a very elite club and I pinch myself every day. I’m over the moon to be given the opportunity and it’s the perfect time for me to take this on.
“I’m probably at the height of my powers as an actor at 62. It would be great to go down in the record books as the show’s biggest serial killer. What a thing to be known for.”
While Stephen will kill again, ITV viewers have been begging Coronation Street fans to put an end to the storyline..
Taking to their Twitter whenever the ITV soap is on, users such as Christian Lee admitted: “I’ve literally stopped watching #coronationstreet because of Stephen and his ridiculous storyline.”
@KirsteneK added: “Anyone else had enough of the Stephen storyline #coronationstreet.”
@ToniBenno94 expressed: “This whole Stephen storyline is becoming increasingly boring now #coronationstreet.”
