Coronation Street viewers were stunned on Friday night when psychic Rosemary Piper’s accomplice was revealed.
There was still time for another explosive scene after Pat Phelan’s dramatic final showdown when a much-loved villain returned to screens.
Corrie favourite Lewis Archer was revealed to be in cahoots with Rosemary as they plot to scam more money out of gullible Gail Platt.
The conman, who is played by Nigel Havers, is back in Weatherfield after a five year absence.
Viewers will remember that the male escort, who had a relationship with Audrey Roberts, stole from Barlow’s Bookies then returned to scam Gail out of £40,000.
Unaware that her nemesis was back, Gail called Rosemary after discovering that David had been raped by Josh.
Gail phoned Rosemary and told her she wanted to get rid of the curse of her ex-husband and serial killer Richard Hillman.
Speaking on the phone, she said: "I need to get rid of Richard’s curse on us once and for all."
Turning to her accomplice, Rosemary said: "Well you’ll be glad to know that Gail is well and truly back on the hook."
Viewers then discovered that Lewis was in on the scheme to trick Gail.
"Bravo my dear, bravo," he said with a massive grin across his face.
Corrie viewers were delighted to see the return of the Weatherfield baddy.
One viewer said: "Yaaasssss Lewis the legend is back!!! One of my fave ever scenes was the dvd he left for Gail telling he never loved her"
Another added: "Yay, Lewis! I knew he was behind all the Rosemary stuff. So happy to see Nigel Havers back."
A third said: "Lewis!!! If his exit was anything to go by, then his return is gonna be brilliant!!"
