Henry Winter was last seen squealing about a broken arm at The Rovers Return, threatening to sue the Connors for his injuries.
Of course, viewers know he has been desperate for money, so this is clearly a new scam to get himself out of debt with his former fiancee.
In tonight’s hour-long episode, Jenny and Johnny worry what they will do if Henry sues as they are not fully insured in the pub, having just moved in weeks before.
With his arm in a cast, Henry heads to Adam to consult about the case, but Gemma is worried as she knows Jenny is worried for the insurance.
Rita then reveals she caught him pilfering through her drawers, and Gemma suddenly starts to doubt her boyfriend’s motives.
Henry is forced to admit his injury is fake to Gemma, and tells her he is being hounded for £20,000 to pay for the wedding he ran away from.
He tells her he loves her dearly and begs Gemma to go ahead with his plan so they can enjoy their life together without thugs threatening to break his legs every five minutes.
Gemma, however, believes they can not con their friends, but Henry reminds her how his life is in great danger.
Will Gemma stick with Henry or go by her friends?
Also today, Liz sees that Johnny has fixed the rota so they will never be working the same shifts, and is very put out by the revelation.
Meanwhile, Leanne starts her job with Adam and Imran at the legal firm, and Adam very quickly picks up on the flirtation between Imran and Leanne.
When Imran’s mum then suggests he join her on a six-week cruise, now that her husband is dead and she can not get a refund, he asks Kate to suggest to Rana that she go instead, as a way for them to build bridges.
Kate outright refuses as she knows it’s just Imran’s way of getting out of it himself, and she tells him this to his face.
Alya later urges Rana to make the most of any chance she may get to try and work things out with her mum, and Imran is delighted when Rana says she will accompany her mum on the cruise.
Elsewhere, Peter wants to sit in on Carla’s meeting with clients, saying he has quit Street Cars to give Underworld his full attention, which shocks Carla.
Ken then brings Simon back from Cornwall for his sentencing, and the young boy’s mood darkens when he receives a threatening welcome text.
Also, Maria and Rita are excited for their new partnership, and as they raise a glass Audrey enter the pub.
She is shocked to hear that Rita is supporting Maria in her new salon, and a row ensues between the two ladies.
Rita lets rip at Audrey, telling her she is just jealous of Maria and should never have chosen slimeball Lewis over her daughter.
Finally, Cathy tries to persuade Brian to apply for a vacancy at Bessie Street School as she believes him to be a natural with children.
Hope, Joseph and Ruby sit in silence while Brian cooks them tea, as Chesney watches, and he laughs when he realises the kids think Brian is Santa Claus.
