Corrie’s Sally Dynevor breaks silenceon soap crisis rumours

Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Webster on Coronation Street, made an appearance via a live link on Lorraine today, speaking out about the claims that the cast aren’t happy.

There has been speculation that Corrie has been in trouble in recent months after a jaw-dropping seven cast members have opted to exit the show this year.

Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor), Faye Brookes (Kate Connor), Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston), Katie McGlynn (Sinead Tinker), Connie Hyde (Gina Seddon) and Bhavna Limbachia (Rana Habeeb) have all left the ITV soap in the last few months.

Most recently, Lucy Fallon, who played Kate Connor, announced her exit from the cobbles too.

Of course host of the breakfast show, Loraine Kelly, wasn’t shy when asking about the ‘crisis’ hit soap saying: “So Sally, with the rumours tell us your’e staying”

Sally set rumours straight and responded: “Oh no Lorraine I am so happy, everyone says its so not real, everyone is really happy”

She then questioned: “I don’t know where this story has come from?”

The 55-year-old continued: “I’m nailing my feet to the ground  so I’m staying”

Sally also hinted at the possible return of former Corrie star Helen Flanagan, who played her on-screen daughter: “I would love her to come back and I’d hope some time she would, because she was so good”.

Helen, who appeared on Lorraine last week, also said: “I miss Coronation Street so much and I’m definitely going to go back.”

Since she exited the show in 2012 Helen also competed in Im a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! that same year.

Lorraine continues tomorrow at 8:30am on ITV.
