As killer Stephen Reid’s deadly murder spree comes dangerously close to being rumbled, the scheming businessman could soon be claiming a fourth victim as Tim Metcalfe continues to try and reveal his true colours.
As regular Coronation Street fans will know, Stephen has already racked up a kill count, after murdering Teddy and his son Leo, not to mention seeing to the end of his 'business associate' Rufus by drowning him in his own pool.
He even had plans to murder his former flame Elaine Jones, after he took out a life insurance policy without her knowledge, with the intention of bumping her off and pocketing the cash.
Thankfully, his scheme was rumbled by a suspicious Tim, with the couple breaking up soon after – but it appears saving his mum isn’t enough for Tim, as the cabbie still wants to bring Stephen to justice and reveal him as the snake he is to the rest of the street.
Unfortunately however, Tim may have bitten off more than he can chew in upcoming scenes, as an altercation between the pair will see Stephen attempt to take another life and silence Tim before he can discover his sinister past.
In spoiler images captured from the set, Tim can be seen trying to flee from Stephen, but in a shocking twist, it appears that the businessman may still be one step ahead, as a further image reveals him attempting to strangle the Weatherfield cab driver!
The altercation comes just weeks after Tim and Stephen got caught up in a violent tussle, after Stephen tried to kill Tim's mum Elaine. During the tense confrontation, Tim pushed Stephen leading him to bump his head and fight for his life in hospital after suffering a brain bleed.
Tim had initially been suspicious of Stephen and his interest in Elaine for months, especially as the pair were planning to tie the knot after a short but whirlwind romance. Unwilling to believe that Stephen had pure intentions, Tim boldly confronted him over his dodgy deeds – and it appears his suspicions were well founded.
Not only had Stephen forged Elaine's signature on life insurance documents, he had also been gaslighting the lovelorn resident into believing she was depressed and losing her mind! Following the reveal, Tim understandably kicked Stephen out of Elaine's flat, but it seems the killer may not be so quick to forgive and forget.
Will the Stephen claim another victim? Or will Tim be able to escape with his life?
Coronation Street continues Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV and ITVX
