Despite their sour relationship, Tyrone Dobbs’ world will surely be rocked after discovering his mum Jackie has died this evening.
Tonight, a police officer will turn up on Tyrone’s doorstep to drop the shocking bombshell.
However many Coronation Street viewers may not remember Jackie and only recall beloved cobbles legends Jack and Vera Duckworth bringing up Tyrone.
Here’s all you need to know about Jackie and her dark past with Tyrone…
Who was Jackie Dobbs?
Jackie Dobbs first turned up in Weatherfield back in 1998 after a stint in jail with Deidre Barlow.
After Deidre’s conviction was quashed, Jackie, who was imprisoned for ABH, followed her to Weatherfield on parole.
Jackie moved to the cobbles with Tyrone, who had been a teenager at the time, and worked at the factory.
Following a feud with Curly over renting his house, she fled back to Liverpool with Darren and left Tyrone with Jack and Vera. Actress Margi Clark, who played Jackie, had also been sacked due to personal issues.
Jackie returned in 2008 with bright pink hair and caused problems for Tyrone and Molly in the run-up to their wedding.
Tyrone had had an unhappy upbringing as his mother failed to support him during his childhood.
The main source of this was her string of failed relationships and one night stands.
In 2010, Jack fell back into her old bad habits of bringing men back to Tyrone’s home, where she was staying, and he ended up kicking her out.
