Some know her for her role as the loving and warm Cordelia Goode, while others know her as the conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler. Along with cast members Evan Peters and Kathy Bates, actress Sarah Paulson became synonymous with American Horror Story, appearing in over 86 episodes.

After a noticeable absence from AHS: 1984, Sarah Paulson shared that she would return for future seasons of American Horror Story. Could fans see the return of Hypodermic Sally? Will Lana Winters come to cover another story? Could Ally Mayfair-Richards be the president in this universe? Thankfully, FX confirmed the possibility, with the renewal of this television show.

Sarah Paulson returns for the next season of ‘American Horror Story’

FX shared some exciting news with horror fans. The television network renewed this Emmy-award winning series through season 13. That means new episodes will premiere presumably during the fall of 2020.

“Ryan and Brad are the undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX’s highest-rated series,” FX’s John Landgraf said in a statement. “We are grateful to them and Dana Walden and our studio partners for committing to another three years.”

With FX’s recent announcement came a confirmation, via Deadline, regarding the return of Sarah Paulson. The actress is slated to appear in season 10 of American Horror Story. As a result, some fans are wondering what this upcoming season could mean for old characters. Could Sarah Paulson reprise one of her already established roles?

Could Sarah Paulson return as one of her beloved characters from the horror series?

Although nothing is confirmed about upcoming seasons, there’s a possibility that Sarah Paulson could reprise one of her known roles with this series. For American Horror Story: Apocalypse, the actress portrayed two characters, the ruthless and powerful Ms. Wilhemina Venable and Cordelia Goode. As one of the characters from American Horror Story: Coven, Cordelia Goode appeared with one of the witches from that season.

For American Horror Story: Hotel, the actress again portrayed two characters, one of which bring from the previous season, Murder House, Billie Dean Howard. Even cast members like Evan Peters returned as characters like Tate Langdon in recent seasons.

If the worlds crossed in the past, there’s no reason why they can’t cross again. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait and see what the theme for this upcoming season will be. More will presumably be revealed in the coming months.
