Creator of legendary ITV comedy teases epic revival five years after its axe | The Sun

DERREN Litten, creator of the legendary series Benidorm has teased an epic revival of the ITV comedy.

This comes five years after the show was axed from the screens.

From the moment it first aired in 2006, Benidorm became a firm favourite among ITV viewers, allowing them a brief escape to sunny Spain.

Produced by Tiger Aspect, Benidorm went from strength to strength, winning several NTAs and bagging a BAFTA nomination. However, the show was eventually cancelled by ITV and aired its final episode in 2018.

When the TV ended, Derren went on to helm the theatre show Benidorm Live from 2019 to 2018, before moving on to a new sitcom, Scarborough, which aired on the BBC.

Derren’s new comedy, which starred himself alongside Catherine Tyldesley and Jason Manford, only lasted one season.
