Dancing on Ice star backs Tony Hadley for entertaining stint on the ITV show

As Dancing on Ice fans prepare to watch Kimberly Wyatt, Regan Gascoigne and Brendan Cole skate it out in the upcoming final this Sunday 27 March, it's only natural for us to wonder who might be part of the next star-studded line-up strapping on their skates.

When we caught up with the finalists – who all seemed to be taking the pressure in their stride – they revealed who from their phonebooks they'd love to see take to the ice.

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan told OK! and other press outlets that he'd love to see Spandau Ballet star Tony Hadley take on the ice dancing competition.

When we asked Brendan if he thought Tony would be any good on the show, he laughed: "I think he'd be entertaining."

Brendan then went on to praise former contestant Bez – who has arguably been one of the most entertaining contestants on this year's show, even though he wasn't the strongest skater. Does he think Tony could bring a similar spark to a future series?

He explained: "I was a bit disappointed when Bez left because there was that element of, you know, Bez brought something very unique to the show.

"You really didn’t know what he was gonna do.

"And every week he got a little bit better, and, especially backstage, he was doing some incredible stuff."

Bez managed to secure his spot week on week until he was eventually booted off in week six when the judges opted to save Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor.

Brendan added: "When he left, there was no longer that element of, ‘Oh crikey he could win,’ and I liked that in the show. I thought it was special to have him there. He was a great part of the whole group – great energy."

On the other hand, Pussycat Doll Kimberly also highlighted Zoe Hardman, one of her celeb pals, for Dancing on Ice 2023.

Praising the presenter, Kimberly said: "I know she’d be willing to give it a go and she’s pretty epic so I’d love to see her shine on the ice."
