Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) is to set off on a final mission in EastEnders, as she fears her dying days are upon her.
With the support of fiance Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick), the popular character realises she needs closure on a number of issues.
It’s no secret to fans that Lola’s story is going to end in tragedy, and emotional scenes over coming weeks will see her deteriorate.
But can she succeed in one of her last missions before she goes?
‘Lola and Jay know their time is running out, so they get busy trying to pack as much into their remaining life together as they can,’ a spokesperson for EastEnders explained.
‘The tragic reality of Lola’s deteriorating health means every moment is precious, and a photo from the past sends her on a final quest.

‘Will she find what she’s searching for before it’s too late?’
It seems likely that this could be related to her mum, with whom she has had a turbulent relationship with.
Emmerdale star Patsy Kensit was recently cast in the role, with the actress confirming she had filmed some scenes recently.
Danielle recently talked to Metro.co.uk about tackling the storyline, telling us that there is a lot of pressure ‘to get it right.’
‘It’s really difficult, the whole journey of the brain tumour and how hard it really is,’ she added.
‘I didn’t realise just how devastating it really is until I got into my research and followed the story.’
