Eamonn Holmes' fans are all saying the same thing as he returns to breakfast TV after quitting This Morning

EAMONN Holmes is back where he belongs after returning to host breakfast television for the first time since 2016 today.

The veteran presenter, 62, thrilled fans by appearing on screen following his shock exit from ITV’s This Morning last year.

Fronting a new show on GB News in a reported £1million deal, Eamonn reunited with his former Sky News Sunrise co-host Isabel Webster to wake up the nation.

Starting the New Year off with a bang, Eamonn is back to setting 2.45am alarm calls ahead of a 3.15am taxi pick-up.

As Isabel said it was good to be back together again, Eamonn joked: "Everything's good except getting back up at this time.

"But what makes it worthwhile is knowing you guys are out there and we're getting lovely messages from people all over the country looking forward to whatever we're going to do differently."

Eamonn’s presenting career began on GMTV in 1993 where he stayed until 2005 when he joined Sky News Sunrise for 11 years.

He famously presented daytime show This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford, hosting on Fridays and during holidays, for 15 years.

But fans were devastated when the couple were moved from their regular slot and replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.

Sources have suggested Eamonn was furious — though ITV had initially said they would regularly replace weekday pairing Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby during their breaks.

In a recent interview with The Sun, Eamonn cautiously said he would rather not discuss his feelings about the departure, but tellingly added: “Put it this way, I’m looking forward to a move somewhere new where they’re pleased to have me. But I wish everyone well at ITV."

He also admitted he hadn't heard from Holly and Phil about his new role on GB News.

In a touching tribute from his wife Ruth announcing they would no longer be presenting as a duo, she said: "And so another chapter begins….

"I’ll miss working alongside him but he’s back doing what he loves most….news.

"Can’t wait to see him back in action!"
