EastEnders fans spot Lily Slater ‘plot hole’ and ask ‘why no one has told her’

EastEnders fans have noticed a “plot hole” involving Lily Slater (Lilia Turner) and her pregnancy storyline.

Their observation came after Thursday’s episode (February 16), where played-out scenes show the soon-to-be young mum attending her baby scan at the hospital with Sam Mitchell, Ryan Mallo and Ricky.

In scenes, young-uns Lily and Ricky are delighted when they see their baby appear on the monitor.

However, fans are baffled at how the medical staff failed to tell Lily about the dangers that could happen during her pregnancy due to her young age.

Viewers flocked straight to Twitter to react to the discovery.

One eagle-eyed viewer said: “Someone should talk to Lily about the potential risks and obstacles she could face during her pregnancy. She’s only 12 years old it’s important she is told about the severity of her situation should the worse happen further down the line.”

While another person added: “if they weren’t going to do it before, the scan should’ve been an opportunity for lily to learn of the risks of pregnancy at her age. I am so disappointed that they’ve skimmed over it.”

A third person penned: “I’m surprised nothing regarding the dangers and health complications having a baby at 12 can bring has been mentioned even slightly. This whole storyline with Lily seems pretty bad now.”

Lily is expecting a child with Ricky Jr after losing her virginity to him late last year.

Lily, previously vowed to have an abortion but told her father, Martin, she is keeping him after he guessed Ricky is the dad.

In the gripping scenes aired last month, Lily confided in Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) about having second thoughts as her abortion appointment edged closer.

“It didn’t seem real before today,” Lily explained before Kat told her to share how she was feeling with Stacey (Lacey Turner).

Kat then confronted Stacey and Martin for putting pressure on Lily to terminate her pregnancy.
