EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick revealed there is a "huge" storyline coming up involving his character Jay Brown.
Jamie, 29, has played Jay since 2006 and the character has been struggling to come to terms with the loss of his wife, Lola (Danielle Harold), after she died from a brain tumour in May. In recent scenes, Jay has grown closer to sex worker Nadine Keller (Jazzy Phoenix) and has been sleeping next to the newcomer after being unable to switch off at night.

Fans have been speculating Nadine's true intentions, with many theorising she could be related to Lola's mum, Emma (Patsy Kensit), or even a figment of Jay's imagination. Responding to the theory, Jamie exclusively told Daily Star and the Inside Soap Awards: "Nadine being a figure of his imagination, I like that it's my favourite theory so far."
Teasing something "dark" is ahead, the soap star added: "It gets a bit juicy. I know after the funeral it died away from us for a bit… and now we will understand what's going on and how Lola's death is affecting every person close to her in different ways. "It gets a bit dark and that's always fun. At this minute we're working on something where if it comes off, it's going to be huge.
"I say no more. If this goes how it is meant to go it's gonna be really nice." It seems things are only going to get worse for Jay as viewers are reportedly set to witness him turning to drugs to cope with his grief. In the hard-hitting drug abuse storyline, Jay takes lethal drug ketamine as his life continues to spiral out of control.
