EastEnders star called the police after 'man bombards her with messages'

EastEnders star Shona McGarty reportedly called the police on a man after he allegedly sent her multiple messages.

Shona – who plays Whitney Dean in the BBC One soap – has alleged she had to block the man on social media after agreeing to do a livestream on his TikTok account in order to raise money for the charity Stand Up To Cancer.

According to The Sun, the man was arrested on Friday (April 23) and bailed until May after the police acted on the allegations made by Shona.

Shona was terrified after receiving multiple messages and calls which led to her involving the police after blocking his account.

Speaking to The Sun, the man said he wanted to ‘know why she’d blocked me’ and confirmed to the site that he was arrested on suspicion of harassment.

He also added that Shona hadn’t told him ‘to stop messaging her’ and he ‘didn’t know she felt harassed.’

The man reportedly said he now has to stay away from Shona’s home and the EastEnders set as part of his bail conditions.

Metro.co.uk have contacted Shona’s rep and Derbyshire Police for comments on the matter.
