Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) was left utterly devastated in EastEnders, as Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) told her that their relationship can never be public knowledge.
‘This is the way it is with me’, said Suki, referring to keeping her passion with Eve a secret. ‘This is the way it will always be.’
Eve was heartbroken, given how close she and Suki had become in recent episodes, with Monday’s (July 25) offering of the BBC One soap seeing them share a passionate kiss.
‘What did you think was going to happen?’, added Suki. ‘I got kids. My businesses. Standing in the community.’
Eve pleaded with Suki to reconsider, telling her to take her own feelings into account. Suki, however, was adamant that this is the way it’ll always be for her.
‘Do you think you’re the first woman to ask me to do so this?,’ exclaims Eve. ‘To hide.
‘It’s not enough for me,’ she adds. ‘So, I’m sorry.’
Eve left the new GP surgery, as Suki broke down in tears, believing that she can never have the life that she wants.
Is this truly the end for Eve and Suki’s relationship? Will Suki fight to keep Eve in her life?
What’s more, will Eve be able to live in the same Square as Suki knowing that they can’t be together?
EastEnders continues Tuesday July 26 at 7:30pm on BBC One, or stream the next episode right now over on BBC iPlayer.
