Just when you thought EastEnders couldn’t get any better, the BBC One soap goes and drops a trailer for what’s to come next week and consider us absolutely stunned.
While we’re all glued to the Cindy Beale storyline, which is playing out on screens this week, next week will be equally as compelling, with the stalker story reaching a dramatic peak, with sinister Theo Hawthorne taking Stacey Slater prisoner at No.31.
Theo, as viewers know, has manipulated his way into Stacey’s home, offering tutoring to pregnant 12-year-old Lily (Lillia Turner), who is struggling with her school work.
Stacey, who is being stalked by a Secret Cam subscriber, has been overwhelmed by the lengths the teacher has gone to, grateful to have support at such a time when she needs it.
Little does she know, however, that her stalker hides in plain sight. It’s Theo!
After making a duplicate of the key for No.31, upcoming scenes will see Theo make his way back inside the property, much to the horror of Stacey, who is trapped in the kitchen.
‘I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to you!’, exclaims the sick stalker in the short preview clip, which you can watch above, which confirms that the truth is revealed, with Stacey working out just who Theo is.

Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) and Martin Fowler (James Bye), meanwhile, race against time to rescue their beloved Stacey after being tipped of that she’s in serious danger if Theo has become obsessed with her.
Will Stacey manage to make it out of this tense situation alive?
What’s more, will Theo get his comeuppance now? Or is he a dead cert, no pun intended, for the Christmas victim?
EastEnders continues Monday August 28 at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
