Emmerdale star Ash Palmisciano has opened up about a return for fan-favourite character Adam Barton.
Adam, played by Adam Thomas, was last seen feeling the country in January 2018 after taking the blame for Emma Barton's (Gillian Kearney) murder, who was actually killed by his mum, Moira (Natalie J Robb). Ash, 33, made his debut as Matty Barton in June 2018, meaning he just missed out on working with his on-screen brother. Touching upon a possible comeback for the actor, Ash exclusively told Daily Star at the Inside Soap Awards: "I'd love for Adam to come back!"
He's a bit busy at the moment," Ash laughed, refencing Adam's current stint on Strictly Come Dancing. The actor continued: "But I'd love to work with him. I never actually got the chance but I've heard so much about him as a person, as an actor.

"The door is always open for him. I know Natalie J Robb is always rooting for that so hopefully in the future we will get to do something because that would be so exciting." Ash also shared more about what viewers can expect from the upcoming crash involving Mack (Lawrence Robb) and Chloe (Jessie Elland).
After overhearing Mack and Charity's (Emma Atkins) conversation about their one-night stand, Chloe is sick with betrayal. Later, Chloe witnesses a tender moment between Mack and Charity as he kisses her on the forehead, unbeknownst that Mack has actually just ended their relationship for good.
Preparing to leave for their holiday break in Scotland, Chloe has a fractured state of mind and is stunned when she spots Charity broken down at the side of the road. Chloe plans to abandon the former couple in the middle of nowhere, but having enough of the driver pushing her buttons, Charity demands she pulls over.
As Mackenzie fears fireworks, a car smashes into them and panic sets in as he realises the car is suspended on the edge of a cliff. Mackenzie is left with an impossible choice when the car starts to slip away and he can only save one of them.
Sharing more, Ash teased: "Potentially a character that's not even involved at the moment is about to get involved." He went on to confirm that the events of the crash will have "catastrophic" consequences at Christmas, adding: "So much stuff is going to happen. There's some very fan favourites that are involved in this story and at Christmas it's going to big."
Ash went on to say: "There's some really big stuff and there's some really big characters involved in it. It's been really cool to have a little bit of involvement in it. Matty is currently engaged to Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and shared hopes of a happy wedding for the loved-up pair.
"I'm really excited for the new year with Matty and Amy as well," Ash said. "I would love to see a soap wedding and a happy one."
