Emmerdale confirms what led Pierce to kill Graham as deadly showdown exposed

Emmerdale aired the truth about Graham Foster's death at the hands of killer Pierce Harris on Friday night.

All week fans had been shown snippets of his final moments, as seven suspects took centre stage.

It turned out it was none of the named suspects, including Charity Dingle, Kim Tate and Jamie Tate, who dealt the final blow.

In fact, it was Rhona Goskirk's ex-husband and rapist Pierce who had returned and killed him.

Friday's episode aired flashback scenes, confirming the character had been back to the village already.

Missed clues including Leo's missing passport revealed Graham knew he was back, after Rhona had been informed a month ago that he was up for parole.

Graham had deleted a new voicemail message that confirmed he was being released and instead tracked him down.

After attacking him he told him to leave Rhona alone, but Pierce wanted revenge.

He came back and thwarted their plans to leave for France, wanting to make sure this didn't go ahead.

As the pair fought in the woods before Graham's brutal murder, all became clear as Pierce claimed Rhona could love no one like she loved him.

The fact he had gone looking for him and beat him to a pulp, Pierce claimed he was back to return the favour.

Not only that, but he suggested Rhona had changed around him and wasn't the same good person to her friends and family.

He decided he had to get her away from Graham and stop her plans, confronting him in the woods.

It's then that the pair battled it out, with Graham almost killing his rival at one point.

But it's when he was hit by a car and sent flying that Pierce got the upperhand.

After another punch-up and Graham appearing to survive again, he was hit over the head with a pole of some sort.

Pierce then buried him under leaves and left his lifeless body.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
