Emmerdale fans have theorised how Craig Reed will meet his downfall after spotting a major clue.

Last month, Craig (Ben Addis) bumped into Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) after decades apart, having not seen each other since their time in a children's home.

Lydia began working for Craig as a cleaner at his company, with the two bonding over their past history, particularly their son who was stillborn when Lydia was 15.

In recent scenes, Lydia and Craig shared and intimate and consensual moment, leaving her wracked with guilt.

She later headed to Craig's office to hand in her resignation, arguing that she is married to Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and a stepmother to Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).

As she hesitated to quit her job, Craig confessed the significance of their recent bond and begged Lydia to reconsider her decision to resign.

She was quickly taken by surprise by Craig, who went on to reveal his true feelings for her and attempted to kiss her.

Despite insisting she didn't want him and loves Sam, Craig ignored her pleas and raped her in his office.

A shattered and traumatised Lydia couldn't bring herself to report the attack and has since struggled to cope with what happened to her.

In a cruel twist, Samson has now secured work experience with his stepmother's attacker, who has been showing the teen how things work at his company.

But eagle-eyed soap fans believe this could be the key to his downfall as many have speculated that Samson could come across the CCTV in Craig's office.

Sharing their theories on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person wrote: "I wonder if Craig 's office has CCTV which would have caught the moment he assaulted Lydia? Lydia has had a shower and burnt her clothes destroying vital evidence."

"Maybe Samson on work experience could come across it #Emmerdale," agreed a second.

Another echoed: "I'm thinking Craig such a twanker he'll have CCTV in his office…. long game but that'll catch him out".

While a fourth said: "Wouldn’t Craig ’s office have cameras in anyway ? #Emmerdale."
