The bodyguard – who is played by actor Andrew Scarborough in the ITV soap – left his surrogate son for dead after brutally attacking him, and now he's seemingly lost him for good.
In tonight's episode Joe was left terrified of Graham after the assault and tried to run away from him.
But after refusing to go to hospital in case Graham got into trouble, Joe told him he could never trust him again and insisted he go to a rehab centre.
However, as Graham promised to be better when he returned, Joe broke both of their hearts by telling him not to come back – ever.
And so Graham faced leaving the village alone after his ordeal.
During last night's hour long instalment, Graham was seen struggling to cope on the anniversary of his pregnant wife’s death.
She kept appearing to him in haunting flashbacks, leaving Graham in a complete state.
He started drinking to drown out the pain but after fighting with Cain Dingle outside the Woolpack was seen staggering through the streets.
Loyal Joe found Graham and promised he was going to help pull him back from the brink.
Graham punched him in the face and told Joe to leave him alone, but the millionaire was adamant he wouldn’t leave his friend’s side.
But Graham saw red and hit Joe again, this time knocking him to the ground.
However, rather than walking away, Graham crouched down on top of Joe before hitting him square in the face again.
The screen faded to black and viewers were left panicking what had happened to him.
Graham was later seen blacked out on the sofa, with possibly little recognition of what he had done to Joe.
The episode then ended on a shot of Joe’s body lying motionless by his car.
Fans feared the worst, with one tweeting: “WHAT THE F**K GRAHAM JOE WHAT?”
Another asked: “Noooo, has he killed Joe?”
While a third commented: “Joe is he dead? He can’t be!”
Viewers were mesmerised by Andrew Scarborough’s portrayal of Graham in tonight’s episode and heaped pain upon him.
One fan told him: “Hats off to @andrewscarboro that was incredible.”
Another said: “@andrewscarboro that was one powerhouse of a performance tonight.
A masterclass in acting and you should be so proud of yourself. Brilliant and heartbreaking .
“This is why you are my favourite actor ever.”
