Harriet (played by Katherine Dow Blyton) has been left crestfallen over Will (Dean Andrews) and Kim’s (Claire King) engagement and wasn’t shy about letting her ex know how she felt. On Friday’s episode of the ITV soap, Will was disappointed when Harriet informed him she wouldn’t be attending the wedding, and immediately arranged to talk to her. Unfortunately, Kim overheard their secret conversation in which Harriet talked about Will drunkenly telling her he loved her. Emmerdale fans know Kim isn’t one to let things go without plotting some kind of revenge, and they seem to think she might be planning to kill Harriet.
Kim was aware that Harriet has been getting closer to Will in the lead-up to the wedding and, knowing they are old flames, has been growing concerned.
Friday’s instalment saw her witness how deeply her husband-to-be is still impacted by Harriet’s behaviour.
As they talked about whether they had each finished writing their vows, the mood suddenly changed as Will checked his phone.
“Harriet’s not coming to the wedding,” he complained to his fiancée.
“I can live with that,” Kim responded coldly. “So what’s her excuse?”
“Been drafted into work because of the weather… So she says,” Will answered.
Confused by Will’s remark, Kim asked: “Why would she lie?”
“Just forget it,” Will hit back dismissively before Kim probed: “Have you two fallen out?”
“It’s nothing,” a clearly upset Will lied, getting up to leave the room.
“Where are you going now?” Kim asked, to which Will responded: “To write the vows… in peace.”
In actual fact, Will arranged to meet Harriet somewhere private so they could talk.
When he went to see her later, he had no idea Kim was trailing not too far behind him.
“Why am I here?” Harriet asked before Will explained: “Because we can’t leave things like this.”
He added: “I want you to come to the wedding. Otherwise, it’d just look sus and Kim’s not daft.”
“Are you scared of her?” Harriet asked, which Will denied.
At that moment, Kim appeared outside, listening in to their chat.
“You told me you loved me, you wanted to kiss me,” Harriet inadvertently revealed.
“I was drunk, it doesn’t mean… we had our day, it didn’t work out,” Will stated.
Harriet cried: “And you think Kim Tate is a safer bet? She’s a monster. She won’t make you happy, not like we were.”
To make matters worse, she continued: “I love you! And you love me and one day you will wake up next to her and you will wish it was me and that is the truth.
“It’s not too late and life is way too short – I won’t say it again.”
Before walking away, Harriet kissed Will goodbye as a furious Kim watched on.
How will the soap villain get her own back at her new enemy? Fans seem to have an idea.
Twitter user @elizabe82758727 theorised: “#Emmerdale I think Jamie Tate return to Emmerdale 50th anniversary and kill Harriet for his mum Kim Tate and we all know that.” (sic)
Similarly, @teatattle warned: “Kim’ll kill you Harriet #Emmerdale.”
@TJuice247 pondered: “Very strange Harriet is only now having these feelings, Kim going to kill her ain’t she? #Emmerdale”
@craggsy82 shared: “I’d be scared of Kim. Good luck Will #Emmerdale.”
@Wee_Westie29 added: “Kim’s just heard Will and Harriet’s conversation – they are so screwed, and they both need to be careful; cause Kim will literally be out for blood. #Emmerdale.”
“Who f***ing wouldn’t be scared of Kim Harriet? #Emmerdale,” asked @itzzzo_.
Could Kim really murder Harriet to ensure she stays away from her future husband for good?
And could her son, Jamie Tate (Alex Lincoln) really get involved with the messy business and help his mum “get rid of” Harriet?
Emmerdale continues on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
