Rishi Sharma's (Bhasker Patal) mystery intruder has finally been revealed in Emmerdale.

The villager has been left scared senseless following a series of creepy events happening inside his home.

He has told his family that the "goblin" has even been stealing his crisps.

His son Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) didn't seem too concerned and instead played it down to his father being lonely.

However, it was revealed during Tuesday's (March 8) episode that Arthur Thomas' (Alfie Clarke) school friend Marshall Hamston (Max Fletcher) has been hiding at the property.

While Rishi is yet to learn the truth, viewers at home were left disappointed as they thought the culprit could have been Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Well, that's a proper let down. No ghost, no Meena. Rubbish."

Another added: "That's not meena pfffft!!"

A third person said: "Can we get Meena back please?"

Meena caused havoc in Emmerdale before she was sent to prison for her awful murders last year.

But even before she was sent down for good, Meena held a court hostage during her final hearing.

The village hasn't seen a notorious serial killer since then.

Marshall was introduced to the show a few weeks ago as a friend and possible love interest for Arthur.

Recent episodes have shown the difficult relationship that Marshall has with his father Colin, who is homophobic and wants him to stay away from Arthur.

Marshall has now run away from his controlling dad and has been staying at Rishi's home.

While this was easy enough when Rishi was away visiting his daughter Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade), Marshall is now faced with the challenge of remaining undetected following his return to Holdgate.

Arthur managed to help by tricking Rishi into spending another night on Jai's sofa, allowing Marshall to have Holdgate to himself once again.

What will happen when Rishi learns the truth?
