Belle, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia back in 2014, has been hearing voices since mum Lisa Dingle fled the village last week after deciding the stress from the fallout of turning Liv Flaherty into the police has been too much of a risk on her health.
Lisa was discovered collapsed by daughter Belle, played by teen actress Eden Taylor-Draper, after suffering a stress-related angina attack.
The teen has kept quiet about her mum’s whereabouts ever since and the stress is clearly affecting her health too.
Fans of the ITV soap have already seen Belle worry as the voices tried to convince her that Lisa leaving was her fault.
She’s been trying to block them out with headphones, but her tactic hasn’t worked.
In episodes due to air next week they return and start telling her that she must destroy the alcohol.
But the stress is clearly proving too much as the voices start telling Belle that she must destroy the alcohol from her and Lachlan's brewery business.
Belle goes berserk in the barn and Lachlan is sent into a panic when he learns she’s been hearing voices again.
Later, unable to find Belle, Lachlan and his former cellmate Gerry Roberts turn the village upside down searching for her.
But while they search, Lachlan’s worry reaches a peak.
What’s happened? And is Belle safe?
Or has history repeated itself with her trying to take her own life?
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm.
