Over the past few episodes, ITV fans have watched as a disastrous storm tore through Emmerdale. Leaving the village a mess, a clean-up of the debris that has been left behind has been organised by Bernice Blackstock(Samantha Giles). Although in scenes set to air next week, it seems a clash between her and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is brewing.
To mark the ITV soap turning 50, Emmerdale bosses gave viewers a series of huge storylines from affairs, pregnancies, confessions and a disastrous storm.
Over the past week, fans witnessed the weather getting progressively worse which resulted in many residents’ lives on the line.
Many characters have been the victim of the storm as they’ve had to fight through flying debris, falling trees and even a stampede of cows.
As things have started to settle down, it’s time for a big operation to try and clean up the mess that’s been left behind.
In scenes set to air next week, fans will see Bernice rally a group of people together to do a huge village clear-up.
Deciding to nominate herself as team leader, things quickly turn sour as her management style doesn’t go down well with deputy Bob.
It’s not long before Bob quickly begins to feel put upon as his resentment for the group leader starts to build.
As Bernice is growing bossier with her orders and delegations tensions between the duo could be about to come to a head.
A theory by Express.co.uk suggests that Bob decides to take matters into his own hands and goes against Bernice’s orders on what to prioritise first.
Furious that he’s strayed from her instructions, Bernice causes a scene in front of the tidy-up team claiming he should go back home and not bother helping any longer.
Although her strong words may not go down the best with the residents who think she’s gone on a slight power trip.
Could the Emmerdale tidy team turn against the barmaid and decide that Bob will be the hero of the grand clean-up which causes a further rift between him and Bernice
So far, it’s been confirmed that the soap has taken its first victim, Harriett Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton), who was trying to locate pregnant teen Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell).
The fatality came after a rescue mission for Amelia, who had gone into labour alone, took a terrifying turn.
Going out on her quad bike to help look for the teen, whose phone had died before being able to tell people where she was, Harriett was determined to find her.
Although with the storm increasing, she was blown over in the woods with her bike falling on top of her causing her to be trapped.
As Kim Tate (Claire King) was also in search of Amelia on her horse, she soon discovered Harriett and was faced to make a decision.
Despite her meddling in her relationship with Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), Kim put their differences aside and helped free Harriet.
Sadly, the disaster wasn’t over as a lightning bolt struck the bike and caused it to explode which resulted in them both being knocked unconscious.
However, when Kim regained consciousness, she went to see if Harriet was alive and was unable to find a pulse.
Kim returned back to the house to reveal the news of the tragic death as Harriet’s partner Dan (Liam Fox) was the person to find her body whilst continuing the search for Amelia.
Speaking about her exit to radio times, Katherine said: “I got very emotional reading it. On the actual day I was covered in blood and I had various bits of woodland hanging out of my hair. We had these industrial wind machines which were literally blowing sand and debris into your eyes.
“So when it came to it, it wasn’t as emotional because the technicality of what you have to do takes away from the emotion, so I managed to get through the day without sobbing.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, and streams on the ITV Hub.
