Nicola King (played by Nicola Wheeler) has been hellbent on getting revenge on Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) following his daughter Naomi Walters’ (Karene Peter) role in her attack. While Naomi did not take part in the brutal beating, Nicola vowed to make her suffer as the youngster was too scared to step in and help. Will Nicola’s twisted revenge plan force Charles to leave Emmerdale?
Nicola was beaten black and blue by a group of girls earlier this year in a car park in an attack which left her traumatised.
Ever since Nicola recognised Emmerdale newcomer Naomi in a recovered memory, she has been determined to make her suffer.
Naomi has tried to apologise and make amends but Nicola has refused to bury the hatchet and move forward.
ITV soap spoilers have now revealed Nicola is set to make a complaint to the Bishop about Charles.
She is left triumphant when he believes her lies about Charles abusing his power as Emmerdale’s vicar.
Charles is distraught when he learns of the complaint and he suspects Nicola is behind the malicious move, but he urges Naomi not to get involved for her own sake.
An unapologetic Naomi is stone-faced when Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) claims her actions could cost the village their genuinely good vicar.
Will Nicola change her mind following Laurel’s words or is this war against the Andersons?
Later on, Charles tries to settle the issue with Nicola but the pair end up locking horns over the complaint.
Will Charles have to leave Emmerdale and find a new parish due to Nicola’s cruel plan?
Emmerdale is marking its 50th anniversary this October and the soap’s producer Jane Hudson has teased the month ends on a “really big bang”.
She told Express.co.uk and other publications: “It is a rollercoaster of emotion and there is a visual input which will blow more than your socks off, put it that way.”
“There are deaths, there’s destruction, but there’s also real moments of intimacy, heartbreak and love,” Jane teased.
She also hinted viewers will see characters tested physically and emotionally over the coming weeks – could this include Charles?
Jane added: “We end the month on a really big bang which propels us well into the New Year.”
“There’s going to be a lot of tears, I must warn you about that, and we will see our community deal with the aftermath of this horrific storm,” she commented.
Charles made his first appearance in Emmerdale on Christmas Day in 2020 as the village’s vicar.
Since his arrival, he was nearly killed by serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) and later fell in love with her older – non-evil – sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
Earlier this year he discovered he was Naomi’s father but he did not know she even existed until his ex-wife called to say she gave her up for adoption after they separated.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
