Emmerdale's Chas Dingle star Lucy Pargeter has broken her silence after being branded the "most hated woman on TV".
Currently embroiled in a cheating scandal, Lucy's character Chas is now a grieving mistress after her lover Al Chapman was shot dead.
Killed by her brother's son, although she believes her brother did it, Chas is heartbroken that the man she was having an affair with is dead.

But fans aren't compassionate towards Chas and her loss, instead they are relieved that Al has died and cross at Chas for cheating on her husband Paddy Kirk.
Chas was prepared to run off with Al before his death, and was planning to take her and Paddy's daughter with them.
Now branded "the most hated woman on TV", Lucy who portrays Chas has spoken out about the storyline.
"Just a little thank you from me and my @emmerdale family," she began in a tweet on her Twitter page.
She continued: "Thank you for watching, enjoying and being so involved and invested in the stories we tell.
"And judging from many of your comments about Chas at the moment, I’d say it’s done what we strive to do – get you talking."
Fans were quick to comment on Lucy's message, with many praising her for "brilliant acting".
"Absolutely brilliant acting Lucy. You’re smashing it," said one fan of the actress.
"Oh, you’re a hated woman at the moment!! But, that shows how good you are at your job!! Please go back to being nice Chas though," added another.
"I love you as a person Lucy, but Chas omg you certainly push my buttons," penned a third.
While a fourth said: "I hate her so much! Proving yet again what a great actress you are."
And a fifth wrote: "I’d say Chas is a very hated woman at the minute which just shows you and the cast are doing an amazing job.
"I really enjoy watching you on the screen, your presence on there is very captivating and you certainly make everyone feel what they should be feeling. Thank you x."
