Emmerdale star Fiona Wade couldn’t help but declare her love for her ITV soap co-star in an emotional post.
Fiona has played the role of Priya Sharma in the programme for 11 years, and finally filmed her final episodes after quitting the role – with Priya off to London for a new job.
She had her co-stars emotional after news of her exit broke, and Manpreet Sharma star Rebecca Sarker couldn’t resist penning a poignant tribute to her on-screen step-daughter on Instagram.

Rebecca wrote: “Dearest @fionawade1. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly into your family, both fictional and real-life.
“This is just adios and not goodbye [heart emojis].”
Sharing a series of stunning snaps of the pair together, Fiona could be seen in a thigh-skimming black dress and blazer, while Rebecca wowed in a white blouse unbuttoned almost to her navel and a PVC holographic skirt.
Both women stunned in sheet tights and stiletto heels, with Fiona securing her brunette tresses in a messy bun atop her head while Rebecca let hers fall loose past her shoulders.
In another snap, the pair were joined by Nicola King star Nicola Wheeler and Bernice Blackstock actress Samantha Giles for a sweet goodbye, posing with their arms around one another.
Fiona was clearly emotional herself as she responded to Rebecca’s sweet tribute with: “My beautiful sister. Thank you for being by my side throughout! Family always [heart emoji]. I love you xxx.”
Fiona also issued a statement of her own to Instagram, describing the “incredible” time she had playing Priya.

She wrote: “It’s been the most incredible 11 years playing Priya Sharma so saying goodbye to my Emmerdale family wasn’t easy.
“I have loved playing Priya and I am so thankful to @emmerdale and @itv for the incredible opportunities they have given me over so many years.”
Thanking the cast and crew who helped make her final scenes memorable, Fiona added: “To my wonderful Sharma family… you know how much I love you. Thank you for everything! And to all the Emmerdale viewers, thank you for all your support over the years.
“Here’s to the next chapter!”
