Emmerdale’s Nicola goes in ‘full attack mode’ as she hits mystery person on head

Emmerdale is set for dramatic scenes as a terrified Nicola King hits someone over the head after thinking that her attackers have returned.

Last week, Nicola was mugged, beaten and left bloodied by a group of teenage girls as she attempted to make her way to her car so she could drive home after a night out with Laurel Thomas and Bernice Blackstock.

While only recently, it was revealed that the gang had recorded the sick attack and it had gone viral online with several villagers seeing the harrowing footage.

In upcoming scenes, Nicola is left struggling in the aftermath of the attack and even feels like a prisoner in her own home.

Things go from bad to worse when a panicked Nicola realises that she is the only one available to pick up the kids from school, and overwhelmed by thoughts of her attack, she accidentally collides with David's van.

And when an angry David demands insurance details, Nicola rushes back inside and is unable to let him into the house.

Later in the week, Nicola soon latches onto the idea of exaggerating Carl’s illness to keep him at home despite the boy pleading to go back to school.

A wary Carl starts to question why he needs to stay at home with her and as Nicola searches for chocolate to keep him occupied, he grabs her phone, running outside.

Terrified at the idea of going outside, Nicola goes into full panic mode when she hears girls laughing and goes into fight mode as she thinks her attackers have returned.

Absolutely terrified, Nicola hits someone over the head… but who is it?

Teasing the upcoming scenes, Nicola star Nicola Wheeler told OK! and press: "She's basically having a complete crisis attack. It starts as a panic attack and again she starts to flashback to what happened with the girls, and she doesn't realise it’s not the girls, but she thinks it’s one of the girls who has come to the door and goes into full attack mode.

"At this point as well Carl has run out to get Laurel because he thinks something is wrong with mummy, and Nicola has to run out into the garden and get him back into the house, and she starts to hyperventilate and it all gets too much."

Asked whether her character will get help, actress Nicola said: "She’s got a lot of good friends around her so I’d imagine she will."

Talking about if Nicola will recover, the soap star added: "I don't think it’s going to be easy. She's resigned to the fact she does need help and accepts her friends, goes to see Wendy, that's not to say there won't be a few setbacks along the way.

"One person she doesn't tell and who is absent for all of this is Jimmy, cos he's away and he comes back with no knowledge of what's gone on.

"Everyone has respected her wishes and not told him cos she’s the one who realises she needs to tell him what's genuinely going on. There will be guilt here because if Jimmy had any inkling of what she was going through, he never would have gone away and never would have left her but she managed to fool him."
