It’s been 15 years since Enchanted introduced us to Adalasia and had us fall in love with Giselle and Robert’s happily ever after. And now Disney is showing us what is next for the happy couple as they move to the suburbs and get ready for a new change in their family in the long-awaited sequel, Disenchanted.
And yes, even though this is taking place in our world, that doesn’t mean we won’t get to see some of our favorites from Adalasia back. In fact, Cosmopolitan has an exclusive clip—which you can check out above—of King Edward (played by James Marsden) and Nancy Tremaine’s (Idina Menzel) big return to the real world as they celebrate Giselle and Robert’s new home in the suburbs. But, of course, for one of these royals, it’s a little bit different than what they expected.
“Your dwelling…are you poor now?” King Edward says with all his Kingly charm and the kind of confused face that only James Marsden can give us. Of course, he couldn’t leave without giving some very interesting design ideas that will make you think about adding a moat to your own home.
As Disney notes, “a live-action musical comedy Disenchanted is a sequel to Disney’s box office hit Enchanted featuring the original cast from the heart-warming story of the lovable, hopelessly romantic maiden, Giselle from the fairy tale world of Andalasia who has grown disillusioned with life in the city and moves with her growing family to the suburbs in search of a more fairytale life.”
Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, and James Marsden are all returning from the first film while Maya Rudolph, Gabriella Baldacchino, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays are joining in on the magical fun this round.
The movie will be available on Disney+ for all subscribers on November 18, so you better put it on your calendars or spoilers will ruin your own happily ever after!
