Faith (Sally Dexter) has already talked to Chas (Lucy Pargeter) about wanting to stop the chemo treatment she’s receiving for her cancer on Emmerdale, saying that it’s made her exhausted and sick. In typical Faith style, she even joked to Bear (Joshua Richards) that it made gin taste terrible.

In upcoming episodes she finally makes the decision to stop the treatment. It comes after a scan which reveals that the cancer has spread. Faith decides that she’s going to try to enjoy the rest of her life as much as possible, which means she no longer wants any treatment that leaves her feeling ill.

She stuns Chas by telling her doctor that she doesn’t want any more chemo.

Chas pleads with her to reconsider but is eventually forced to accept that Faith has made her decision.

When Cain (Jeff Hordley) finds out, Chas is shocked that he makes a big show of not seeming to care either way – but when Cain is alone it’s clear that he’s struggling with the idea that his mother is dying.

Faith’s most heartfelt wish is for her son to forgive her and for them to have a loving relationship. Has Cain left it too late, or is there still time to make amends?
