Faye Brookes scraps plans to move to London as Gareth Gates shows off new home after calling off engagement

FAYE Brookes has scrapped plans to move to London as Gareth Gates shows off his new home after calling off their engagement.

Yesterday, The Sun Online exclusively revealed the couple had split, just months after Gareth proposed to the former Coronation Street actress.

Faye – who quit as Kate Connor in the ITV soap earlier this year – had been planning to move to London with Gareth, 35, to pursue theatre work.

But following their split, the 31-year-old has cancelled her plans and has decided to stay up North, while Gareth has been busy showing off his new home on social media.

A source close to the actress told The Sun Online: "Faye was supposed to be moving to London with Gareth to pursue new opportunities but has decided to stay in Manchester after their break up.
"She was really excited about trying to become a stage star and told everyone they were off after her last day on Corrie last month – and she's even taken a step back from her performing arts school.

"Faye's had a change of heart about it all now though and thinks she's needs to stay where all her family and friends are.
"She'll still try and have a new start though – and has already unfollowed Gareth as she tries to rebuild her life."

The news comes after Faye hinted at being "broken" and "hurt" by her ex-fiance, who she has dated on and off for seven years.

The star liked a series of posts from fans who were trying to support her after the news of her split broke yesterday.

One post read: "She fell. She crashed. She broke. She cried. She crawled. She hurt. She surrendered. And then.. she rose again."

Faye is yet to comment publicly on the split, but has been seeking comfort from fans.

She liked a post that read: "Keep smiling and remember you’re amazing. Big hugs sweetheart."

While another fan told her: "Stay strong, be positive & be happy. Know you're loved & supported always Faye. Look after yourself."

The Sun Online has contacted a representative for Faye for comment.
