Footballers' Wives stars Zoe Lucker and Laila Rouass confirm they're hoping to return for a new series as they reunite on TV for the first time in nine years

The actresses both appeared on Loose Women and shared their desire to bring the warring WAGS back.

Zoe, 44, played Tanya Turner in the hit ITV drama – which aired from 2002 until 2006 – opposite Laila, 47, as her sworn enemy Amber Gates.

The pair, who have not seen each other in nine years, had a good catch up on Loose Women today as they reminisced about their time on the show.

The Loose Women panellists were keen to find out whether rumours of a reboot are true, and Stacey Solomon asked whether they would ever consider going back.

Laila said: "I would if it was as good as we were in it," and Zoe added: "Yes."

The pair also revealed they had not met up since appearing on Strictly Come Dancing together nine years ago.

They also talked about their favourite storylines, with Zoe remembering when crazed WAG Tanya stole Amber's baby.

She said: "I loved the baby swap. I very inappropriately put fake tan on the baby after stealing it and swapping it…"

Laila added: "My real baby got squished by the pug [in the story]".

Laila went on to say that she's ended up living in Essex close to many of the houses where the show was filmed.

She said: "A lot of the houses we filmed in are in Essex  and I go past then and go 'That's my house!'"

Footballers' Wives star and soap veteran Gary Lucy, 35, recently teased fans that a revival is on its way.

When quizzed on a Footballers' Wives return, the hunky actor told Now magazine: "Maybe in some form… watch this space is all I can say.

"It was an outrageous and fantastic thing to be a part of, so a reunion may be on the cards, you'll have to wait and see."
