Fred Sirieix’s fiancée says she was ‘surprised’ he announced their wedding on TV
Fred Siriex’s fiance Fruitcake was left surprised after he revealed when the pair were planning on getting married live on I’m A Celebrity. While appearing on Good Morning Britain alongside Richard Arnold, Fruitcake admitted she was taken aback by the confession.
She told the host: “I’m surprised he announced the date on TV, it did come as a surprise to me because it’s been kept under wraps for this long but hey it’s out there now and yes it’s happening. I can’t wait, it’s gonna be in sunny Jamaica and it’s gonna be amazing.”
Richard, 54, asked: “Just to be clear, he did ask you to put a ring on it first right?,” as Fruitcake responded: “He did,” with the pair bursting into laughter.
Fred, 51, made the revelation during the first week of the Australia-based show, telling campmates Danielle Harold, Sam Thompson and Marvin Humes all about his other half.
He recalled how the couple first met as he said: “I’ve never had a bad date. But the way I met Fruitcake, I met her in Peckham… I was walking up and she was smiling at me and I was smiling at her and I liked her eyes.

“I just had to talk to her… I asked for her number. I said, ‘Shall we go for a drink tonight?’ That was nine years ago. We’re getting married in Jamaica next year.”
An eager Sam, 31, suggested they should go to Las Vegas for his stag do and promised to ensure he would have a great time if the First Dates star let him organise it.
“I’d love to see Sam’s organisation of Fred Sirieix’s stag. That’ll be next level,” Marvin joked as they burst into laughter at the idea.
Fred was previously in a relationship with Alex Spendolini, whom he shares two children with, a son Lucien, and professional diver daughter Andrea.

Fruitcake, along with all of the other celebrities’ family and friends, have flown into Australia as the show gears up for the first daily public vote-off.
In July 2020, Fred revealed he and his wife-to-be had cancelled their wedding and planned to wait until the end of the Covid pandemic to exchange their vows.
The Channel 4 star proposed to Fruitcake during lockdown and because they couldn’t go out, he couldn’t present her with a ring during the big moment.
