Alfie Allen was hit by severe illness while making new drama SAS Rogue Heroes.
Filming episodes in extreme heat in the Sahara made him so sick he was out of action for three days.

The actor, famed for playing Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones, said: “I was suffering from heatstroke and food poisoning at the same time. That was not nice.
“It was a test of physical and mental endurance without a shadow of a doubt. I have shot in very cold conditions before so this was the polar opposite to that.”
Alfie plays officer Jock Lewes, who was a key figure for the British Army during the Second World War.
He added: “We were in these insane conditions that obviously the real life story would have taken place in, but of course there would have been way, way more to deal with back then than we as the actors were dealing with.”
The show also stars Dominic West, Jack O’Connell and Connor Swindells.
They all helped each other cope with the tough conditions.
Former Game of Thrones star Alfie said: “We all really looked out for each other in this sort of alien environment. It really bonded us.
“We started doing the drills in the mornings and always checking in with each other — making sure everyone was drinking enough water, eating enough food.”
The first series of SAS: Rogue Heroes, which has been developed by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, is gearing up to be released and it will see a number of actors showcase the origin of the SAS.
The series is set in the middle of World War II and the actors were sent out to Morocco to film in 2021 – with temperatures going up to 53C on some days.
Set was regularly disrupted with sandstorms but the actors powered through to do their filming as they "embodied the spirit of what the SAS went through at the time", Olly Lloyd told BBC.
The series starts Sunday, October 30, at 9pm on BBC One.
