GOGGLEBOX fans are up in arms after show favourites Simon and Jane revealed a major change to this week's schedule.

The popular C4 show has been uprooted from its usual Friday night slot and moved to tomorrow night at 9pm instead.

Writing on Instagram, the reality pair said: "We are getting ready for this week’s Gogglebox! *FUN FACT* – for one week only, Gogglebox will be shown on Saturday night! As if things in the country weren’t confusing enough, eh? 😂 So, C4, Saturday night at 9pm."

Their followers weren't impressed, with one writing: "Omg Friday night without gogglebox is like Gin without tonic 😢 plus its another day to wait."

Another said: "How am I going to break it to mum she has to wait a day 😢."

A third posted: "I'm sure they could have put the Friday night rubbish on at a different time. Have a great Friday night x"

The news was first revealed on Wednesday night shortly before Send Nudes: Body SOS aired.

The channel's announcer said: "It's one for you diary. Brand new Gogglebox isn't on its usual Friday night spot.

"Saturday at 9pm is your go-to for this week over on Channel 4."

There's a good reason for the switch-up though.

Replacing it tonight is a one-off revival of the stand-up and entertainment show Friday Night Live.

Fronted by original host Ben Elton, the heavily advertised reboot of the 80s show has seen Ben joke that the political landscape isn't much different from when the programme last aired in the 80s.

Although the pace of modern politics means he's had to keep on his toes in a way that he didn't three decades ago.

He told the Mirror: "It’s kind of a moving target. I mean, in all the days I did it in the ‘80s, I was never in a position where you had no idea what and who the government would be at the end of the week.

"In many ways it is a great week to do it because everybody’s jaw is on the ground with astonishment and horror. But it’s also a bad week to do it because the situation is being so fully discussed by literally everybody."

He'll be joined by comedy big-hitters and newcomers for the show, which is a celebration the channel's 40th year, such as Harry Enfield, Julian Clary, Jo Brand, Rosie Jones, Mawaan Rizwan, Jordan Gray, Ronni Ancona and Sam Campbell.
